Can I resign before my UAE Visa Expires?
I have joined a company as an Surveyor since February 2008.In this month 22 February my work permit going on expired I submit my resign on 19 February 3 days before for one month notice . My visa and Emirates ID card will expire May 2017.but now my company owner tell me that you will work in my company when your visa will expire other vise he not cancel my visa.but now I want to go another company. Please guide me what I do. He can deduct my salary or something.?
As per law you have to send a non-renewal letter 1 month before the labour contract expiry and should stop working once the contract finishes .no need to work until the date of visa expiry because the visa is a valid document for a stay in UAE.Visit nearest Tasheel for further advice.
Just u can go now to near Tahseel and and your charge 50dh only and u can see ur visa and I’d card expiry date ..that’s best for UAE government and you.
Thanks Sir but my work permit is expired on 22/2/2017 and my visa, Emirates ID card will expire May 2017 and I submit my resign on 19/02/2017 .before 3 days expiry of my work permit date
It’s ok. It’s u r right to resign… You have 30 days grace period…after visa expiry… So u can complete u r notice period… U can work… With the same employer till you complete the notice period…
Since u submitted your resignation … Now u just need to serve your notice period…. Keep all proof of resignation submission… And after completion of notice period u r visa to be cancelled by the company… Exit the country and come back on new visa.. If they don’t cancel your visa on completion of notice period… Send them a reminder email and next day wait for response.. If no response just proceed with tasheel… And labor case…. If you have new employer ready to employ u talk to him about these issues and in your first discussion take a work permit from labour court and join the new company…. Now its time to teach the some of inhumam employers how to respect their employees… There will be some minor hickups … No need lawyer for labour case… Not at All expensive to fight a labour case… Just u need support of new employer and own patience…. Just keep all your important documents handy.
