What is the new approved Darker window tinting in UAE?
I had that the new RTA rules darker window tinting is approved from 30% to 50%/
Is this true and does it apply in all emirates or only Dubai?
In 2014 was fined in Sharjah for having 50% in my company car?
Does this new darker window tinting law apply to also rent cars and company cars or only personal cars

  • Ajman – AJM.
  • Sharjah – SHJ.
  • Dubai – DXB.

I think with Company car you can tint no problem, as long as there is approval from the company.
I have been driving a company car for 3 years  with 30% window tinted but i have never been stopped by police, i have been involved in some accidents but still no police has ever mentioned it.
so i think its okay as longs as the company allows it.

I used work for Dollar Rent in Dubai, the company  didnt allow tinting of their cars but if the customer tinted the car,  we would charge them 200 AED plus removal charges.
I came a cross very rear cases especially from the longtime leasing.
I’m not sure if the all states in UAE don’t allow tinting of rent cars but for sure it’s banned in Umm Al Quwain and you can easily be charged 500 AED and the car can be impounded for 30 days.
