WHEN SHOULD THE MAID IN UAE GET HER VACATION PAY?
I’m asking on behalf of my friend who is working as a housemaid. My question is about her contract and 1-month vacation payment. The employer insists that the 1-month leave pay should be given once the maid came back from vacation. Is that the law? According to contract?. Also the employer made a contract and it’s written there it’s valid for 2 years but the maid refused to sign. Do the employer has right to force the maid to sign and threaten that they will send her back home and cannot enter UAE anymore? In this case what kind of step she needs to do?
The employer needs to pay her leave money prior to departure for her vacation not after. And concerning the contract, I can’t really comment on that until we figure out if this is a 2nd contract or the 1st presented to her by the employer because everybody usually signs a 2 years contract form or even more. That’s my opinion
She’s been working with them for 2 years with 1 year contract but thus time they have given her contract to sign for 2 years contract
